 சிறீதரன் எம்பியைச் சந்தித்த அவுஸ்திரேலிய உயர்ஸ்தானிகர்!

இலங்கைக்கான அவுஸ்திரேலிய நாட்டின் உயர்ஸ்தானிகர் மத்தியூ டக்வேர்த் (Mathew Douck worth) அவர்களுக்கும் இலங்கை தமிழரசுக் கட்சியின் பாராளுமன்ற உறுப்பினரும் இலங்கைத் தமிழரசு கட்சியின் நாடாளுமன்ற குழுக்களின் தலைவருமான சிவஞானம் சிறீதரன் அவர்களுக்குமான சந்திப்பு நேற்றுமுந்தினம் யாழ்ப்பாணத்தில் நடைபெற்றது. 

வடக்கு கிழக்கு தமிழ் மக்களின் அரசியல் அபிலாசைகளை அடைவதற்கான பயணங்களில் உள்ள இடைவெளிகள், பொறுப்புக் கூறல், நீதியை நிலை நாட்டுவதில் இன்றைய அரசும் அக்கறையுடன் செயற்படாமை, வடக்கு கிழக்கில் இன்றும் விடுவிக்கப்படாமல் இராணுவ வசம் உள்ள தமிழ் மக்களின் காணிகள், புத்த விகாரைகள் அமைத்து சிங்கள குடியேற்றங்களை விரிவு படுத்தும் அரசு நிகழ்ச்சி திட்டங்கள் தொடர்பில் விரிவாக பாராளுமன்ற உறுப்பினரால் உயர்ஸ்தானிகருக்கு தெளிவுபடுத்தப்பட்டது.  

அத்துடன் தொழில் வாய்ப்புக்கள், முதலீடுகளை உருவாக்குதல் தொடர்பிலும் நிரந்தரமான நீடித்து நிலைக்கக்கூடிய கௌரவமான அரசியல் தீர்வை எட்டுவதில் சர்வதேச சமூகத்தின் பங்கும் அழுத்தமும் எவ்வளவு முக்கியமானது என்பதையும் சிறீதரன் உயர்ஸ்தானிகருக்கு எடுத்துக் கூறினார். 

Meeting with the Australian High Commissioner!

A meeting between the Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Mr. Mathew Duckworth, and the Member of Parliament of the Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi and Leader of the ITAK Parliamentary Group, Mr. S. Shritharan, was held the day before yesterday in Jaffna.

During the meeting, the Member of Parliament clearly explained to the High Commissioner the existing gaps in the journey towards achieving the political aspirations of the Tamil people of the North and East; the lack of commitment by the present government towards accountability and the establishment of justice; the continued occupation of Tamil civilian lands in the North and East by the military; and government programmes aimed at expanding Sinhala settlements through the construction of Buddhist temples.

In addition, Mr. Shritharan emphasized issues relating to the creation of employment opportunities and investments, and highlighted the crucial importance of the role and pressure of the international community in achieving a permanent, sustainable, and dignified political solution.
